This Cookie Policy explains how AIM-UP, LLC ("AIM-UP," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with our websites and related services (collectively, the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect personal information more broadly. AIM-UP is a privacy-first platform. At launch, our use of cookies and similar technologies is intentionally minimal and limited to what is strictly necessary to operate the Services securely.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember certain information across requests or sessions. Similar technologies include browser local storage and service workers, which store data locally on your device and serve related functional purposes. This Policy covers all of these technologies collectively.
3. Cookies and Technologies We Use
AIM-UP uses only the following cookies and similar technologies at launch. 3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookie We use one first-party HTTP-only secure cookie for authentication purposes. • Name / Type: Authentication cookie (refresh token, JWT) • Party: First-party only (set by AIM-UP's own backend) • Purpose: Maintains your authenticated session and supports secure login functionality • Storage: HTTP-only, Secure flag set, not accessible to JavaScript • Category: Strictly necessary, required for the Services to function; cannot be declined without disabling core functionality 3.2 Browser Local Storage (Functional) We use browser local storage to store a small number of strictly functional, first-party items. • JWT access token: supports authentication state between page loads • Language preference: stores your selected display language (English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese) • Theme preference: stores your selected display theme (light or dark mode) These items are first-party only, functional in nature, and do not track you across websites or collect behavioral or advertising data. 3.3 Service Worker (Functional) We use a Progressive Web Application (PWA) service worker for offline caching and related technical functionality. The service worker does not collect, transmit, or track any personal information. It operates solely to improve application reliability and performance. 3.4 External Resources Our Services load Google Fonts via CSS only. This is a static resource request for typography rendering. No cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioral data collection are associated with this request.
4. What We Do Not Use
At launch, AIM-UP does not use any of the following: • Analytics cookies or platforms (including Google Analytics, GA4, GTM, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar, or Segment) • Advertising or targeting cookies • Social media pixels or tracking tags (including Facebook/Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Twitter Pixel, or TikTok Pixel) • Third-party chat or support widgets (including Intercom, Drift, Crisp, or Zendesk) • Third-party cookies of any kind • Conversion tracking pixels Our Content Security Policy (CSP) headers are configured to actively block the loading of external scripts, providing a technical safeguard against inadvertent introduction of third-party tracking.
5. Legal Basis and Necessity
The cookie and local storage items described in Section 3 are strictly necessary for the operation of the Services. They enable core functions including secure authentication, session continuity, and user preference persistence. Without them, the Services cannot function as intended. Because these technologies are strictly necessary, they are not subject to consent requirements under applicable law. However, you retain the ability to manage or delete them through your browser settings, as described in Section 6.
6. Your Choices and Controls
You can manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to: • View cookies and local storage items currently stored on your device • Delete cookies or clear local storage • Block future cookies from specific sites or globally Please be aware that disabling the authentication cookie or clearing local storage will affect your ability to use the Services. Specifically, you may be logged out and required to re-authenticate, and saved preferences (such as language or theme) will be reset. Because AIM-UP does not use non-essential or advertising cookies at launch, there are no optional cookie preferences to configure beyond your browser-level controls.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. AIM-UP does not currently respond to DNT signals because, at launch, we do not engage in the types of cross-site tracking that DNT is designed to address. We will reassess this position if our tracking practices change.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including if we introduce new technologies or third-party tools. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If we introduce non-essential cookies or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, implement appropriate notice and consent mechanisms before doing so.
9. Relationship to Our Privacy Policy
This Cookie Policy supplements and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy provides additional detail about how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information, including information collected through the technologies described here. In the event of any conflict between this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy governs with respect to personal information.
